Velosi is conducting Safety Trained Supervisor^® (STS^®) Exam Preparation Training online.

This exam preparation training course provides an in-depth introduction to the Safety Trained Supervisor (STS®) certification. It covers the importance of BCSP certification, the requirements and application process of the certification, and information about the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP). The STS certification training is comprehensively designed for leaders across all organizational levels, promoting a safer work environment through knowledge of safety practices and fostering a safety culture within companies.

Most importantly individuals who pursue the STS generally work in transportation, utilities, and manufacturing. The program also includes workers in facility services, health care social assistants, administrative and support management, and maintenance.

By the end of this course, participants will learn to:

• Understand the role of STS certification.
• Understand the roles of leaders and promote a safe working environment.
• State the roles of supervisors in ensuring safety at the workplace.
• Identify potential risks and exposure in the workplace and learn how to control them.
• Use relevant safety policies, regulatory compliance standards, and practices.
• Enhance special competencies in risk identification, assessment and evaluation, safety audits, and accident analysis.
• Build a safety-conscious organizational culture.
• Communicate safety expectations and effectively engage team members in safety initiatives.

Training will be conducted via Microsoft Team Meeting. Meeting invites will be shared one day before the first day of training.

1. Training Requirement

• 30 hours of formal safety-related training

2. Experience Requirement

• Two (2) years of supervisory experience; OR
• Four (4) years of work experience (work experience must be a minimum part-time [18 hrs/week] to qualify), OR an associate degree or higher in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, OR Completion of a 2-year trade or union training program/apprenticeship.
