Velosi is conducting online training for Dropped Object Studies Training Course.
A Dropped Object Study (DOS), often conducted as part of a formal risk assessment, is a systematic approach to assessing the hazards of potential falling objects and their impacts to structures and process systems in industrial facilities. Based on the findings of a DOS, organizations can determine whether structures have been adequately protected to absorb the impact energy and decide whether to add additional engineering and operational safeguards to control risks. Therefore, it is particularly essential for organizations which have load lifting or handling activities to obtain the expertise needed to conduct a proper DOS.
Building on our extensive experience in conducting DOSs for various clients in the oil and gas sector, Velosi developed this Dropped Object Studies Training course to outline the methodology of a DOS and equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct a DOS for the activities of their onshore and offshore facilities. Participants will be given the chance to engage in a practical exercise of carrying out a real-life DOS under the close guidance of our qualified trainer.
-
By completing this course, participants will be able to:
- identify the types of lifts which require a DOS,
- determine the number of lifting points and the potential dropped object zones,
- describe major handling systems and identify potential dropped objects, and
- calculate drop frequency and impact energy of each object.
-
Training will be conducted via Microsoft Team Meeting, online. Meeting invites will be shared on the day before the first day of training.
-
This is a one-day course from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (Dubai Time)
