Borouge assigned Velosi to perform Corrosion Risk Assessment Study for Borouge-2 Plant. Velosi had to perform corrosion risk assessment study (CRAS) for Borouge-2 assets. The main purpose of CRAS was to evaluate Borouge-2 asset corrosion risk throughout its operational lifetime. Borouge-2 plant has been in production since 2010.

Scope

The total assets covered in client facility for the RBI study are 1963 equipment.

The scope of work included marking of corrosion loops over PFDs and P&IDs, Identification of damage mechanism as per API-571, and corrosion risk assessment.

Process

Velosi Performed Corrosion Risk Assessment Study (CRAS) for equipment within client Facility as per API-580/581, utilizing VAIL-Plant® software PEMS module.

Outcome

Velosi successfully carried out the Corrosion Risk Assessment Study (CRAS) for equipment within client facility of Borouge by adopting semi quantitative approach and utilizing VAIL Plant Software (PEMS module). The methodology used for this project is based on API RP 581.
