Wrench Time is a measure of the time a maintenance craft worker spends applying physical effort or troubleshooting in the accomplishment of assigned work. Time Motion studies have been utilized for optimization and increase in productivity since the early days of industrialization.
Main idea behind the Wrench Time study (Time-Motion) is to capture time taken by a skilled craft worker to complete a certain task, provided all provisions and requisites are available, and then compare it with similar tasks performed by different personnel.
