Air dispersion modelling is the mathematical simulation of how air pollutants disperse in the ambient atmosphere. The dispersion models are used to estimate the downwind ambient concentration of air pollutants and to predict future concentrations under certain scenarios. At industrial facilities, these models are necessary for estimating the consequences of accidental releases of hazardous materials, predicting their ambient concentrations and potential impacted areas, and enabling protective actions where necessary.
Building on the extensive experience in developing air dispersion models for our clients, Velosi is now offering this highly interactive Air Dispersion Modelling training course which provides participants with fundamentals principles and concepts of air dispersion and take them on a step-by-step walkthrough of the AERMOD software. Throughout the course, participants are given access to this software and the chance to complete a real-world air dispersion modelling project under the guidance of our experienced trainer.
By completing this course, participants will be able to:
- understand air quality and dispersion principles and concepts
- be aware of Air Dispersion models, input data and their selection,
- conduct an AERMOD modeling analysis for environmental management, and
- produce, interpret, and present tables, plots, and other output from AERMOD.
Training will be conducted via Microsoft Team Meeting, online. Meeting invites will be shared on the day before the first day of training.
