Velosi is always looking for talented people to become its team members. We are looking for a skilled and experienced French- English Translator/Interpreter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately and efficiently translating written documents and providing simultaneous interpretation during meetings, conferences, and other events.
Job Description
Translation:
- Translate a variety of documents from French to English and vice versa, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and cultural sensitivity.
- Documents may include but are not limited to legal documents, technical manuals, reports, emails, and marketing materials.
Interpretation:
- Provide simultaneous interpretation during meetings, conferences, presentations, and other events.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive information.
Language Proficiency:
- Demonstrate exceptional proficiency in both French and English, including grammar, vocabulary, and idiomatic expressions.
- Ensure that translated content conveys the original meaning and intent.
Research and Terminology:
- Conduct research to ensure accurate and up-to-date terminology in both languages.
- Create and maintain a glossary of specialized terms.
Cultural Competence:
- Understand cultural nuances to provide contextually appropriate translations and interpretations.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other team members, project managers, and clients to ensure clear communication and successful project outcomes.
Time Management:
- Meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.
As our ideal candidate, you should have
- Proven experience as a professional translator/interpreter.
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Interpretation, or related field.
- Certification or accreditation in translation/interpretation preferred.
- Strong knowledge of industry-specific terminology.
- Experience in Oil and Gas Industry would be a plus.
- Proficiency in relevant translation software and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Language Skills:
- Native or near-native proficiency in both French and English.
