The main objective of this project is to perform a Corrosion Risk Assessment for RSF (Rim Seal Foam) and FSF (Full Surface Fire) Fighting System Upgrade for COS Tanks 1 to 6 at ZIRKU, which focuses on the assessment of piping and equipment risks according to expected damage mechanism and their impact to asset integrity, HSE & production. The main methodology of CRAS is based on API RP-580, API RP-571 and other relevant (ISO, NACE, etc.) standards, which outline risk as a product of the probability of failure (POF) and consequence of failure (COF) translated into a risk matrix.
After the Corrosion Risk Assessment Study, Velosi developed the Corrosion Control Manual to define the effective Corrosion management measures to maintain the integrity of Project assets throughout the design life. Corrosion Control Manual (CCM) describes all necessary mitigation and monitoring methods to protect Project assets from corrosion, addressing specific requirements for corrosion inhibition, corrosion monitoring locations and types, Cathodic Protection, internal and external coatings, pigging and inspection requirements of the assets.
