CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR DESIGNING, TENDERING, TECHNICAL COMMERCIAL EVALUATION, INSTALLATION & COMMISSIONING OF ONE NEW TURBO-COMPRESSOR AT NAWABSHAH
Objective
- Pakistan is currently facing a severe shortage of natural gas, both for its electricity generating plants and general use by all sectors. Domestic gas production of 4,000 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) is unable to meet the country demand; the supply demand gap is approximately 2,000 MMCFD. In order to overcome the Natural Gas shortages on a fast track basis, various options are under consideration which inter alia include import of LNG. For this purpose, Pakistans 18t LNG terminal (Fast Track LNG Project) is -started regasification process at Port Qasim, Karachi. The project is on “tolling” model whereby a private party has developed the terminal and SSGC has signed a services/tolling agreement (LNG Services Agreement) The contract was awarded on the basis of an open competitive process in accordance with the Public Procurement Rules (PP Rules). The developers scope broadly comprises receiving, storage, and re-gasification of approximately 3,000,000 tons per year LNG (3.0 MPTA).
