Job Responsibilities
- Project management: Overseeing and managing the entire civil engineering project, from planning and design to construction and finalizing. This includes creating project schedules, coordinating with other professionals and stakeholders, and ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
- Construction supervision: Monitoring and overseeing construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety standards. Coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and other professionals to resolve any issues or challenges that arise during construction.
- Quality control and assurance: Implementing and maintaining quality management systems to ensure the highest standards of construction are upheld. Conducting quality inspections and tests, reviewing documentation, and making recommendations for improvements or corrective actions.
- Budgeting and cost control: Preparing project budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts, considering labor, materials, and equipment expenses. Monitoring project costs, identifying potential cost-saving measures, and ensuring work is completed within the allocated budget.
- Regulatory compliance: Staying up-to-date with relevant building codes, regulations, and environmental laws to ensure project compliance. Acquiring permits and licenses, submitting necessary documentation, and coordinating with regulatory authorities.
- Team management and coordination: Leading and supervising a team of engineers, drafters, technicians, and other professionals involved in the project. Assigning tasks, providing guidance, and fostering effective communication and collaboration within the team.
- Client and stakeholder interaction: Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, addressing any concerns, and maintaining strong relationships. Collaborating with other stakeholders, such as government agencies, contractors, and consultants, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Risk assessment and mitigation: Identifying potential risks or issues that may impact project delivery, such as environmental hazards, design flaws, or construction delays. Developing risk management strategies and contingency plans to minimize the impact of these risks.
- Continuous professional development: Keeping up-to-date with the latest developments and advancements in civil engineering, attending workshops, seminars, and conferences, and obtaining relevant certifications to enhance professional growth.
As our ideal candidate, you should have:
- BSc in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 15 Years’ of Experience of Detailed Construction Supervision of Multi Story Buildings in Government Sector Projects with worth more than 1000 Million.
- Experience of working in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), AutoCAD, Primavera, MS Project.
