Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) Revalidation and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Study

Scope of Work
The scope of work included a comprehensive Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) Revalidation and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Study to assess process risks, validate existing safeguards, and identify opportunities for improvement. The scope of work included managing workshops, providing technical leadership, and developing all associated deliverables.
Process
Velosi facilitated HAZOP and SIL workshops on-site, ensuring participation from all relevant disciplines. The workshops focused on:
- Identifying process deviations using guidewords
- Evaluating consequences, causes, and existing safeguards
- Determining risk levels and recommending additional safety measures
- Assessing SIF performance and existing protection layers
- Establishing Required SIL (RSIL) and comparing with Achieved SIL
The process ensured full regulatory compliance and alignment with Engro’s internal safety standards.
Outcome
Velosi’s team of expert individuals successfully conducted a comprehensive Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) Revalidation and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Study.
Deliverables

- Terms of Reference (ToR) for HAZOP and SIL Workshops
- HAZOP Workshop Report – including node-by-node analysis, recommendations, and action tracking
- SIL Workshop Report – including SIL determination, SIF performance summaries, and gap analysis
