University of Poonch Rawlakot
The main objective of consultancy services is to establish multiple facilities at University's Rawlakot campus. The facilities to be constructed include 2 No’s Academic Blocks (Electrical Engineering and Humanities & Social Sciences), Girls/Boys Hostel, Auditorium, and some external development works. . In addition to the design and supervision, analysis and retrofitting of buildings of existing Shamsabad Campus is also included in the Consultant’s scope. The project aims to develop basic infrastructure at the site. As part of the project development cycle, the topographic, soil surveys, estimates for civil works, and detailed engineering design and documentation are required.

Scope

The primary scope includes the consultant shall provide the following services to the client:

  1. Site Survey and Investigation
  2. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
  3. Master Planning and Detailed Design
    1. Master Planning
    2. Preliminary/ Schematic Design
    3. Design Development
  4. Preparation of Bidding Documents
  5. Bids’ Evaluation
  6. Detailed construction supervision at different stages as required during the execution of the project.

The campus to be established shall include the following facilities:

Sr. No. Description Quantity
1 BUILDING WORKS
Academic Block – II (Electrical Engineering) 38,000 sft
Academic Block – III (Faculty of Management, Humanities & Social Sciences) 59,000 sft
Girls / Boys Hostel 3 No’s [Capacity: 200 Students each] 135,000 sft
Auditorium for 1200-1500 persons 12,000 sft
2 EXTERNAL DEVELOPMENT
Construction of internal link roads (0.8 km: 30 ft and 20 ft wide)
Outdoor Electricity and Lights TBD
Sewerage/Drainage/Water supply system TBD
Provision of 5 No.of Transformers TBD
Car Parking SHED, Boundary Wall etc. TBD
UGWT/OHWT TBD

Assessment of Earthquake shaken buildings at the Shamsabad campus is to be performed along with proposed retrofitting works:

1 ANALYSIS AND RETROFITTING OF EARTHQUAKE-SHAKEN EXISTING SHAMSABAD CAMPUS.
Structural Analysis of Existing Shamsabad campus damaged due to earthquake. 83,840 sft

Deliverables

  1. Site Survey and Investigation-Topographical SurveyVelosi shall perform a Digital topographic survey and identify possible alignment considering the technical, financial, environmental, and social aspects of the project:
    1. Undertake a preliminary topographical survey along with the selected alignment. Velosi shall set out and establish reference points at appropriate locations as key control points of the survey. These points shall be used as benchmarks for identification and used during the subsequent engineering surveys. (“Geo-tagging”).
    2. The leveling shall be tied to the existing Government benchmarks in the area.
    3. Contour Plans shall be prepared.
    4. Velosi shall prepare topographic maps with contours at appropriate intervals, coordinates, and vicinity plans. All survey plans shall be prepared on reproducible materials of high quality.
    5. Natural drainage/ Nullahs’ profile and cross sections shall be surveyed and marked on the master plan.
    6. The existing Roads around the campus shall be surveyed and marked on the Master Plan.
  2. Geotechnical Survey– Undertake geotechnical investigations including soils and materials surveys. Velosi shall perform analysis and testing on disturbed and undisturbed soil samples, pavement samples as well as construction materials samples. This analysis and testing shall be performed in accordance with AASHTO and ASTM.- Number of boreholes for soil investigation will be discussed with the client depending on the area of the site.- 15 No’s boreholes at 10m depth.- In one borehole at every 1.0 m intervals the Standard Penetration Test shall be carried out up to 10 m in order to determine the load-bearing capacity of the different strata.

    – If the N-value of 50 is encountered continuous 5 m, boring can be stopped. Because of stopping the boring due to the reason said above, the balance between the actual total boring depth and the contracted total boring depth shall be compensated by digging an additional borehole(s).
    – Ground water table level will be measured.
    – Different Geotechnical Investigation tests will be performed on soil samples like Hydrometer Analysis, Atterberg Limits (LL, PL & PI), Specific Gravity, Unconfined Compression Test (soil), Direct Shear test (soil), Bulk and dry density, Natural Moisture Content, Cl, So4, and organic matter (Soil), Resistivity Test, etc.

  3. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
  4. Master Planning and Detailed Design Stage
  5. Design Development Phase
  6. Preparation of Bidding Documents
  7. Assessment and Retrofitting of Earthquake shaken Shamsabad Campus
  8. Detailed Construction Supervision Stage
