Incidents involving gas are among one of the top safety risks for international oil and gas industry, especially with high-risk activities such as working in confined spaces or hot work. To ensure that atmospheres are safe for hot work or work in confined spaces, certain legislations require that an Authorized Gas Tester (AGT) is formally appointed by his/her employer to perform the initial testing and continuous monitoring of the atmosphere in these working environments. For an AGT to be competent enough to do this, he/ she must have attended AGT training by a prestigious organization.

Building on our decades of hands-on experience in HSE management consulting for numerous oil and gas clients around the world, Velosi has condensed our expertise into this Authorized Gas Tester Training course, which can now be made available at your fingertip. This Velosi AGT Training course prepares prospective AGTs for this challenging role by equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to conduct proper gas tests for oxygen levels as well as flammable and toxic gases.

By completing this course, participants will be able to:

• have a general understanding the hazards of confined spaces and hot work,
• identify hazardous gases and their characteristics,
• recognize symptoms and consequences of exposure to toxic gases,
• conduct gas tests and interpret gas reading levels, and
• operate and inspect common types of gas detection equipment.

Training will be conducted via Microsoft Team Meeting, online. Meeting invites will be shared on the day before the first day of training.
