Velosi's Electrical Engineering Team, led by Engineer SYED ATIF NASEEM (Head of Electrical Dept.) will be presenting a technical paper, "A Holistic Framework for Assessing Distribution Transformer Integrity: Routine Tests to Advanced Diagnostics."

We are pleased to announce that Velosi’s Electrical Engineering Team, led by Engr. Syed Atif Naseem (Head of Electrical Dept.), in collaboration with authors from NED University of Engineering & Technology and NUML University Islamabad, will be presenting a technical paper titled “A Holistic Framework For Assessing Distribution Transformer Integrity: Routine Tests To Advanced Diagnostics” at the 11th International Electrical Engineering Conference (IEEC 2026) in NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, taking place on 10th April 2026, 11:15 am to 1:00 pm.

The paper will present a comprehensive multi-layer diagnostic framework for assessing distribution transformer health, spanning electrical integrity, mechanical integrity, insulation condition, core performance, and oil quality, in accordance with ANSI-NETA MTS 2023, IEEE C57.152, and IEC standards.

The research will be applied to a 1000 kVA, 11/0.415 kV oil-immersed transformer, with exhaustive testing performed across all critical integrity domains. Results will be evaluated against standard acceptance criteria and processed through a custom MATLAB-based GUI tool that generates a transformer Health Index and survival graph using a Markov model, reducing human error and enabling data-driven remaining life assessment.

• Remaining Life Assessment: Transformer remaining useful life determined through Markov modelling and insulation condition analysis.
• Electrical Integrity: Full routine test suite validated against IEC 60076-1/3, confirming winding health and phase balance.
• Mechanical Integrity: SFRA testing for winding deformation and core displacement assessment per IEC 60076-18.
• Oil & Insulation Health: DGA and comprehensive oil testing covering insulation aging and overall oil condition.
• MATLAB Health Index Tool: A custom application that automates diagnostic data aggregation and generates a real-time transformer health index.
