Velosi is conducting online training for Permit to Work (Issuing/ Area Authority) Course.
Whenever an organization conducts construction, maintenance or other high-risk activities, there exists a risk of damage to equipment and harm to the environment and most importantly people’s lives. For such activities, an effective Permit to Work (PTW) process is necessary to control risks and ensure that these tasks are completed safely. However, without proper training for all involved employees, a well-designed PTW system can easily descend into a mindless form-filling exercise.
This Velosi Permit to Work (Issuing/ Area Authority) course aims at empowering those personnel in the role of issuing a PTW to perform a work within their area of authority. It details the duties of a PTW issuer, explores some of the pitfalls in PTW system which often cause serious accidents, and includes examples of permit systems and policies used across various sectors as well as issues worth considering when issuing and signing off PTWs.
-
By completing this course, participants will be able to:
- identify types of work which require a PTW,
- fully understand the processes in a PTW system,
- know what to look for when reviewing a PTW,
- determine whether sufficient hazard controls are documented in a PTW, and
- monitor the compliance of a PTW.
-
Training will be conducted via Microsoft Team Meeting, online. Meeting invites will be shared on the day before the first day of training.
